WHO ARE WE? The KPFK API Radio Collective is a coalition of young pan-Asian activists and community organizers in Los Angeles determined to put an Asian American perspective on KPFK, a public radio station that has not had an Asian American show in over 6 years.

Mission Statements for KPFK API Collective

- disseminate information important to API communities
- put API art and cultural expression on the air
- monitor status of APIs in the programming grid
- assist programmers in working with the station
- act as a support organization for API producers
- improve understanding and relations between people in the region
- improve understanding of politics in the API countries
- give voice to API perspectives on contemporary issues
- give voice to API perspectives underrepresented within the API media
- give voice to API labor issues
- give voice to API progressive politics
- provoke discussion within the API community
- provoke discussion between communities
